Obituary for Stanley Theodore ""Stats"" Faux

Stanley Theodore ""Stats""  Faux
Stanley "Stats" Faux, age 81, of Wilmington, passed peacefully in the presence of his family on Saturday, May 24, 2014.

Stanley attended Fletcher Brown H.S., Class of 1951. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked at U.S.P.S. for 28 years, the majority of the time from the North Wilmington Talleyville branch location. Stanley played semi-pro baseball and tried to further his career by trying out for the St. Louis Cardinals Major League Baseball team. He also played in many basketball and softball leagues, where he won MVP multiple times. He was a big Penn State fan and was a football season ticket holder for 31 years. Over the years, Stanley had mentored many students academically and athletically, especially in baseball. He loved going to the Poconos where he enjoyed spending time with his cousin Gene at his childhood home. Stan and his brother, Leroy spent time daily going for walks and talking sports.

Stanley loved spending time at the beach with his family and going for bike rides. He was a member of the Mid-County Senior Center and had won the Gold Medal in softball in the Senior Olympics.

Stanley was the "Pop-Pop", anyone could have hoped for and was seen on the sidelines of all of his grandchildren's games. He had a seat in the audience for all of his grandchildren's sporting events, Boy Scouts, plays and musical performances, dance recitals and academic awards. He had been an anonymous contributor to many families in need and charitable organizations and did not want to be recognized.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Margaret (May) Faux, and his brother, Thomas Faux. Stanley is survived by his wife of 55 + years, Betty L. (Smith) Faux; his two daughters, Almena M. Faux and her husband, James Dugan and Lisa A. Faux; his grandchildren, Scot Saienni (Olivia), Tyler Faux-Dugan (his financee' Aimee) and Shane Faux-Dugan, Cameron Saienni, Dustin Faux-Dugan, Amber Saienni, Kelsey and Logan Faux-Dugan; his brother, Leroy Faux; his cousin, Elmer (Gene) Klein; several nieces and nephews; and many others who affectionately called him "Pop".;
