Obituary for Jennie N Cotton

Jennie N  Cotton
Jennie passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Christiana Hospital in the presence of her family.

Born in Cape Charles, VA, Jennie was the daughter of the late Jennie Roberts and Lawrence Nottingham.

Jennie was a homemaker. She was a very active, as well as the oldest living member of Peniel United Methodist Church, which she joined in 1955. Jennie was devoted to her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.


Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George C. Cotton in 2010, her daughter, June Cotton Baker in 2004, her brother, Robert Nottingham and sister, Marianna Dabson.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Turner (Bruce); grandchildren, Lori Crawford (Doug), Kenneth Wallace (Jessica), Brian Wallace (Colleen); step grandchildren, Christopher Turner, Jeffrey Turner, and Kevin Turner; seven great grandchildren, Shelby, Sam and Lindsay Crawford, Alexandra, Jenna and Piper Wallace, and Jared Wallace; and her brother Lawrence Nottingham.

Services will be at 11 am, Tuesday, January 20, at Peniel UMC where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Jennie's memory to Peniel UMC, 115 East Market Street, Newport, DE 19804.
