Ronald Jay Benson
Wilmington - Ronald Jay Benson, age 62, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, March 2, 2018.
Ron attended H.C. Krebs and Henry C. Conrad High School. He worked at Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits for over 20 years before retiring in January 2018. Ron was an active member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Phillies, Eagles and 76ers. He was very fond of his nieces, nephews and family pets. In his younger years, Ron was an avid fisherman.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, George S. "Barney" Benson, Jr.
Survivors include his mother, Alice L. Benson; his brothers, Bob Benson (Kathy) and Rick Benson (Susan); and 22 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Wednesday, March 7 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 701 S. Maryland Ave., Wilmington, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Burial will be private.
The family would appreciate contributions in Ron's memory to Calvary Presbyterian Church, 701 S. Maryland Ave., Wilmington, DE 19804.
