William "Billy" Tansley

William “Billy” Tansley, age 80, of Marshallton, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Billy was a 1964 graduate of A.I. duPont High School. He worked for many years at the Texaco Refinery in Marcus Hook before becoming a self-employed plumber, maintenance man, and all-around handyman. Billy enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and was a devoted sports fan, especially of the Phillies, Eagles, and University of Delaware football.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Henry “Ted” and Sarah (Finkley) Tansley; his brothers, Ted “Teddy,” Irvin “Tim", Robert “Bob,” and Richard “Dick” Tansley; his sister, Carole Vail; his son, William “Shane” Tansley; and his partner, Sarah Tansley.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Tansley (Loretta); his grandchildren, Kayla and Anna; and his sister, Dorene Evans (Tom), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Billy will be remembered for his easygoing nature and his knack for storytelling. He was truly one of a kind, well loved, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be private.
