Sarah J. Warrington

Sarah J. Warrington, age 72, of Newark, formerly of New Castle, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Sarah worked as a School Bus Driver for many years. She loved being in the comfort of her home among her many plants and enjoyed making blankets and wreaths. In her younger years she raced cars and she will always be a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Above all else she was very family oriented and loved by all.

Sarah is preceded in death by her favorite person, her grandson, James P. Warrington II, who passed away in 2018; her parents, Evelyn and Willie David Sowers Sr.; and her brothers, Elmer Gene "Sonny" Sowers and Willie David "Bill" Sowers Jr.

Survivors include her children, Tanya Warrington and James H. "Jay" Warrington; their father and her former husband James P. Warrington; her sisters, Patricia Bailey and Mary (Sowers) Brim; grandchildren, DeAsia Selby, Desiree Selby and James V. Warrington; great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jaylen, Jesai, AJ and Paige Marie Warrington and her mother, Victoria Burgos; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Nichols - Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804, where visitation will begin at 9:30 AM.
