Robert Vaughn Smith

Robert Vaughn Smith, age 60, of Wilmington, formerly of Avondale, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Bob (also known as Bobby to those closest to him) worked as a carpenter for many years. He attended Christ Church at the Grove and was a member of the worship band.

Bob was a jack of all trades. He played bass in the band Word of Mouth, enjoyed riding his Harley, he loved to cook and watch the Phillies and Eagles. Bob liked hanging out with his friends, especially Friday night trivia. He had the best sense of humor, and could make anyone laugh with his impressions and jokes. He was a devoted father and grandfather and loved spending time with his children and grand children.

Bob is preceded in death by his mom, Connie and her husband Joe Frezzo; and his dad, Glenn Smith.

Survivors include his daughters, Rhia [Heather] Joyce (Corey), Stephanie Peterson (Matthew), and Dana Siple (Dustin Riley); sister, Diane Smith; and grandchildren, Parker, Rowan and Colbie; his cousins Connie Shultz, Trish Cullen, and Catherine Cullen, many nieces and nephews who he adored, and a long list of friends. He will be missed by many.
