Mary Lou Gooding-Addair

Mary Lou Gooding-Addair, age 78, of Wilmington, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and was reunited in Heaven with her loved ones.

Mary Lou was a 1965 graduate of Conrad High School. She later graduated from the nursing program at Delaware Technical and Community College. She dedicated many years to caring for others, working as a nurse at Wilmington Hospital before retiring as a senior caregiver.

She had a passion for ballroom dancing and was a member of a senior dance squad. Mary Lou also found comfort and community through her faith by attending St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, William L. Gooding III and Mary Etta Gooding, and her beloved grandson, Kyle Medkeff.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Tammy Jeandell (David) and Terry Malascalza; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Garrett (Rob), Cassandra Jeandell (Ryan Becker), Austin Jeandell, and Karissa Malascalza; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Evan and Erica Garrett. She will also be remembered by her extended family and friends, whose lives were a part of her journey.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Nichols - Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804, where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 420 S Dupont Blvd Smyrna, DE 19977

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faithful Friends Animal Society in Mary Lou’s memory.
