Lois Rice Walley

Lois Rice Walley was born in 1938 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late James Rice, Sr. and Rosa Rice. Lois was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on April 20, 2026.

Lois loved the Lord and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church for many years. Lois had a deep love of working with children and dedicated over 25 years as a paraprofessional in the Christina School District. She lived a very active and fulfilling life, regularly attending the Mamie Warren Senior Center where she built a strong and loving community of friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ernest S. Walley, Jr. and her sister Rose Rice.

She leaves to cherish her memory with her brothers, James Rice and John Rice, her daughters, Cheryl Buchanan (Paul), Morrocca L. Bey, Lisa Goodwyn (Mark) and her son Brian K. Walley (Tammy). Her grandchildren James Randy Walley, Sr. (Denise), Bernard Keys, Jr. (Keandra), Alysa Buchanan (Nicholas Cosby), Cassandra Gonzalez (Mark), and Courtney Hacker (Tariq); 8 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Canaan Baptist Church, 3011 New Castle Avenue New Castle, DE 19720.
