Age 87, of Willow Valley, West Lampeter Township, PA; formerly of Heritage Park in Wilmington, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2007.
June was a loving, unassuming person, generous of heart and spirit, devoted to her family, faith, community and numerous volunteer activities. She had an inquisitive mind and active interest in a wide range of sunjects, from math & sciences to languages & humanities. She taught at schools in Michigan, New Jersey and Delaware, including courses at the Academy of Lifelong Learning. She was a poetess and enjoyed travel, Scrabble, sewing, crafts, genealogy and Bridge.
June was a graduate of Hunter College High School, Hunter College, and the University of Michigan.She was also a Girl Scout leader & trainer, and a recipient of the Arc of Epsilon Pi award for her service to Alpha Gamma Delta International Women's Fraternity. She was a former member of St. John the Beloved Church and the Parrish of the Ressurection, where she served as a Diocesan Certified Catechist & Liturist, Lector and Minister to the Sick and was active in Cursillo.In Lancaster, PA, she was a member of Old St.Mary's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Col.Elmer P. Foster, on December 3, 2003.
Survivors include her children, John R.Foster, Anne Crites, James C.(Marge)Foster, Thomas E.(Sandra)Foster, Jan Dixon and William F.(Susan)Foster; her brother, Joseph W. Duroux, of Sacramento, CA; her identical twin sister, Dorothy Duroux(Arthur)Hansmann, of Racine, WI; her grandchildren, Jennifer M. Crites(Rob Cline), Daniel A. Crites, Robert Foster, Christy(Jim)Hinkley, James A.(Lauren)Jarrell, III, Jill A. Jarrell, Christopher Foster, and Michael Foster; and 4 great grandchildren, Dylan Jarrell, Ardara Crites-Cline, Taylor Pennell and Jacob Jarrell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Resurrection Church, 3000 Videre Drive, where visitation will be from 9:15-10:15 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE.
The family suggests contributions in June's memory to the Par rish of the Resurrection.
