Joshua "El Mudo" Torres

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joshua "El Mudo" Torres, a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, father, and friend whose kindness and unforgettable personality left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Joshua moved to Delaware in 2004, where he formed countless friendships and became known for his generous heart, infectious smile, and playful spirit. Although he lived with a disability, he never let it define who he was. He lived life on his own terms and always found a way to bring joy to those around him. Joshua loved motorcycles, music, and working with his hands.

As a mechanic, he took pride in fixing things and enjoyed being around cars and bikes. Don Omar was his favorite artist, and his music was never far from reach. If you knew Mudo, you knew he loved to joke around and keep everyone laughing. Since he was young, he had a mischievous spirit and was always getting into harmless trouble. Family will always remember his funny moments, including the times he would run around in nothing but his underwear, and his famous saying, “Mama Bicho!” His sense of humor and ability to bring smiles to those around him will never be forgotten.

Joshua lived life unapologetically and authentically. His laughter was contagious, his presence unforgettable, and his love for people was genuine. Above all else, Joshua loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. He had a rare gift for making people feel welcome, accepted, and appreciated. His kindness, loyalty, and generous heart created friendships that felt like family. The overwhelming love shown by everyone who knew him is a testament to the incredible person he was.

Joshua was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Angel, and his paternal grandparents, Sergio and Juanita.He leaves behind his loving mother, Angela, and father, Jose; his beloved grandmother, Apy; his siblings, Leslie, Stephanie, Ricardo, and Harry; his three cherished nieces and nephews, who brought him endless joy; as well as a large and loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will forever treasure his memory. Joshua is also survived by his son, Joshua Jr., who made his entrance into the world during this unimaginable time.

Though words cannot ease such a profound loss, Joshua's legacy will live on through his son. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Mudo’s memory will live on through the stories, laughter, music, and love he leaves behind. His impact cannot be measured by the years he lived, but by the countless lives he touched.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5 pm on Friday, July 31 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1010 W. 4th Street Wilmington, DE 19805, where visitation will begin at 3 pm.

Joshua llegó a Delaware en 2004, donde creó innumerables amistades y se dio a conocer por su gran corazón, su sonrisa contagiosa y su espíritu alegre. Como mecánico, se sentía orgulloso de arreglar cosas y disfrutaba estar rodeado de carros y motocicletas. Don Omar era su artista favorito, y su música siempre estuvo presente en su vida.Si conociste a Mudo, sabías que le encantaba bromear y mantener a todos riendo. Desde pequeño tenía un espíritu travieso y siempre estaba metiéndose en alguna travesura inocente. Su familia siempre recordará esos momentos graciosos, incluyendo las veces que corría por ahí en ropa interior, y su famosa frase, “¡Mama Bicho!”. Su sentido del humor y su habilidad para sacar sonrisas a quienes lo rodeaban nunca serán olvidados.

Joshua vivió la vida siendo auténtico y fiel a quien era. Su risa era contagiosa, su presencia inolvidable y su amor por las personas era genuino.Sobre todo, Joshua amó profundamente y fue amado de la misma manera. Tenía un don especial para hacer que las personas se sintieran bienvenidas, aceptadas y valoradas. Su bondad, lealtad y gran corazón crearon amistades que se sentían como familia. Joshua fue precedido en la muerte por su abuelo materno, Ángel, y sus abuelos paternos, Sergio y Juanita.Le sobreviven con profundo amor su madre, Angela, y su padre, José; su querida abuela, Apy; sus hermanos, Leslie, Stephanie, Ricardo y Harry; sus tres adorados sobrinos, quienes le brindaron una alegría infinita; así como una gran y amorosa familia de tíos, tías, primos y amigos, quienes siempre atesorarán su memoria.Joshua también deja a su hijo, Joshua Jr., quien llegó al mundo durante este momento inimaginablemente difícil.
