John retired in 1988 as a Locomotive Foreman from CSX Rail Road after 45 years of service. He was a Navy Veteran and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Newark. John was a member of the Brunswick #191 Masonic Lodge, Cumberland Scottish Rite Consisitory and Boumi Temple in Baltimore, MD.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Helen Jeanne Young Forrest in 2013. He is survived by his sister, Doris Brown and 2 nieces.
Funeral services and burial were private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
