James "Jimbo" Dutton, age 77, of Wilmington, formerly of Galloway, NJ, passed on Friday, March 20, 2026 in the presence of his family.
Jim attended Holy Spirit High School in Absecon, NJ. He served in the United States Marine Corp where he was a helicopter mechanic during Vietnam on the USS Iwo Jima. Jim then worked at Atlantic City Electric for over 30 years before retiring in the early 2000's. Jim was an avid Philadelphia Eagles Fan. He enjoyed playing the lottery, solitaire and was a crossword fanatic. He was known for his trademark "paper towel" in his back pocket.Â
Jim was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Kathy [Hale]; his mother, Anna M. Dutton; his father, Robert T. Dutton, Sr. and brother, Billy; loving mother-in-law, Kathleen Hale; father-in-law, H. Edward Hale and stepmother-in-law, Grace Hale.
Jim will be missed by his wife of 12 years, Kath "Kathryn" Biddle-Dutton; his sons, Jim [Kara] and Matt [Britt] and grandchildren, A.J., Rachel, Brennan and Tyler; his sister, Kathy [Mark] and brothers, Bob Jr, Steve [Patty], Mike and Denny; brothers-in-law, Ed and John [Kelly] and sister-in-law, Maureen [Dominic]; his nieces and nephews, Joe, Nancy, Steve, Brian, Molly, Eddie, Carrie, Collin, Laura, Kevin, Bobby, Jennifer, Dennis, Anna, Jennifer, Stephanie and Megan; special childhood friend, Gerri Sullivan [John] and WAY TOO MANY dear and loving friends and coworkers to list.Â
Funeral Services in Delaware will be held at 7 pm on Friday, March 27 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 East Justis St. Newport, Delaware 19804 where visitation will begin at 6 pm.
Services in New Jersey will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, March 28 at BOAKES FUNERAL HOME, 6050 Main St. Mays Landing, NJ 083330 where visitation will begin at 2 pm.
