Jim, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015.
He graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Engineering and from Hofstra University with a Masters degree in Engineering. Jim worked for many years as an Engineer for Grumman Aerospace Company, (now Northrop Grumman) and then taught Science at Amityville Junior High School.
Jim served as an Officer in the Army 42nd Infantry "Rainbow" Division in Germany and North Korea. Jim and his late mother, Ruth Hall were long time members of Peniel United Methodist Church in Newport. He was an avid Boatman and taught boating safety at Power Squadron. Jim enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and was a devoted fan of the New York Giants and Yankees.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Beverly A. Lagg and her husband, Steven; his grandchildren, Jessica Forbeck and her husband Abraham, Matthew Kosinski and his wife Audra and Jennifer Kosinski; his 4 great grandchildren; his wife Ernestine Baird and her children, Douglas and Janet.
Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 1 at PENIEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 115 E. Market St., Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 AM. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave. & DuPont Rd.
