Heather Christine Angela Geddes-Rosato, age 54. Born at Riddle Hospital in Media, PA on a warm July 24, 1972 to Diane (Barlam) Geddes and Sydney G.(Skip) Geddes, Jr., of Clifton Heights, Delco, PA.
Heather lived and grew up in Clifton Heights, PA . Attended Westbrook Park Elementary, Drexel Hill Middle School, Holy Cross Catholic School and graduated from Cardinal O'Hara High School, Class of '91. Heather also attended Delaware County Community College where she studied Early Childhood Education and American Sign Language.
Heather was a hard worker and enjoyed working part time jobs in the area, while in school.
Later on, Heather worked at Garnet Valley School District, Glen Mills, PA in Food Service and as a Bus Paraprofessional for 25 years. Heather also worked part-time at the Ridley Y, as a Childcare Aid. The children loved her Duck, Duck, Goose game.
Heather was married on October 20, 2001 to Gary Rosato (deceased) and lived in Darby, PA down the street from her Maternal Grandparents, James & Clara (Santoleri) Barlam.
Heather was a member of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Darby, PA and Our Lady of Fatima Parish Holmes, PA when she lived in Glenolden.
Heather enjoyed many activities and was an " out- going" girl! She loved to go to dances, sing Karaoke, play pool, play Bingo, play bocce, Zumba, Chair Yoga, color, Horror movies, working on and creating craft items and a genius at naming songs, the artist and sometimes the year it came out. Heather also knew what actor played what part on some of her favorite TV shows, such as Happy Days, Cosby, and Who's the Boss, to name a few.
Heather was born with Turners Syndrome and developed Diabetes, but neither of these slowed Heather down from enjoying life.
People who knew her, loved her. Heather's smile would light up a room and her kindness toward others was honest, pure and sincere. She was the best friend to all. Her friendship circles expand from childhood friends, to school friends, to work friends to new friends. All you needed to say was "Heather" and people knew who you were talking about. She had a beautiful presence.
Recently. Heather moved to Middletown. DE to live with her Mom, Diane and Mom's partner, Gary Leader.
Heather, instantly became a huge part of her new neighborhood and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Bear. DE. Everyone embraced Heather, how could they not? Her smile and good nature was contagious and spread to others.
Heather enjoyed and attended Easter Seals Day Program in Smyrna, DE where she met some wonderful people! Heather is a "people person" and can start a conversation with anyone just by saying, hello!
Heather is predecessed by her Dad, Sydney G. (Skip) Geddes, Jr, Maternal Grandparents, James & Clara( Santoleri) Barlam, Fraternal Grandparents, Sydney G Geddes, Sr & Elizabeth (Vogel) Geddes.
She is survived by her Mom, Diane Barlam-Geddes and her partner, Gary Leader of Middletown, DE., her brother, Christopher Daniel Geddes, Sr, & Sister-In-Law, Genene Geddes of Clifton Heights, Delco, PA, her Nephew and Godson, Christopher Daniel Geddes II, her Niece, Madison Alexis Geddes, and Nephew Matthew Joseph Geddes. She is also survived by her Great Uncle & Great Aunt Edward & Dolores Graham, of Garnet Valley, PA, Uncle & Aunt Robert & Rosemary Barlam, Glenolden, PA, First Cousin's Joseph & Mark Barlam and many other extended family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, September 10 at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 345 Bear Christiana Rd, Bear, DE 19701 where visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm. Burial will be private.
