Obituary

Gwendolyn Williams, age 78, of Bear, Delaware, formerly of Greenville, South Carolina, transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Gwendolyn, affectionately known as “Gwen,” dedicated many years of service in the healthcare field and was also known for her work as a Steel Processing Supervisor, Mail Room Professional, and Mortician Assistant.

She was a licensed Minister in Salem, New Jersey. She was a faithful member of Ebenezer Church in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and later joined Wilmington Christian Center Church in Wilmington, Delaware.

Gwendolyn was a woman of many gifts and talents. She enjoyed arts and crafts, played the piano, and blessed others through her gift of gospel singing and ministry.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Daniel O’Donnell III; her father, John Wesley Williams; and her sisters, Carolyn Williams and Heather Hadrick.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Ernest S. Williams, Sr.; daughter Tara O’Donnell Latham (Shawn Latham) stepdaughters Kishon Williams, Ernique Williams, and Wynonna “Yonnie” Williams; stepson Ernest S. Williams, Jr.; mother Elizabeth Hadrick; brothers Michael Washington, Joseph Williams, Timothy Williams, and Lon Williams; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
