George Otto Lawton Jr. went to the Lord on June 28, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware.
George is preceded in death by his dear parents, George O. Lawton Sr. and Helen Donnelly Lawton.
Survived by his spouse of 36 years, Susan Denise Lawton; daughter, Brandi M. Lawton; son, Zachary S. Lawton (Faith); his loving grandchildren, Serenity Lawton, Hunter Lawton, Waverly Lawton and Wyatt Lawton; sister, Marybeth Lawton; brother, Alfred “Bud” Lawton; and nieces and nephews.
George was a graduate of Delcastle High School in 1974, followed with an electrical apprenticeship working as an electrician at A.I. Dupont Children’s Hospital for 25 years. Then at Lawall’s Prosthetics & Orthotics for 20 years.
He was a wonderful husband and father. His grandchildren meant the world to him and he loved spending time with them.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 1700 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19804, where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
