Donald G. Selsavage Jr

Donald G. “Donny” Selsavage, Jr, age 68, of Wilmington, formerly of Claymont, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

Don was born to the late Donald and Stella Selsavage. At 7 years of age started his first job pumping gas, little would he know this would start his career and love of cars. At 13 he was given tools to work in the shop and learned about the mechanics of the automobile. Then shortly after when Don was 19 years old, he started a career working for General Motors, where he spent 32 years. Don loved everything about cars and he owned over 50 cars in his lifetime. He enjoyed working with friends and their race teams. Being a racing enthusiast, Don was attracted to everything about racing, especially NASCAR. Don was a 1976 graduate of Mt. Pleasant HIgh School. He enjoyed hanging out at The Coach in Claymont, The Brandywine Club and The Moose Club. He was known for his quick whit and was full of humor.

Don is survived by his best friend, Lynn Crowell, Mike Gallahan, Jill Vernon, Shiela Stafford and extended family.
