Dominga Morales, lovingly known as “Yiya,” passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 74. She was born on September 15, 1951, in Humacao, where her vibrant spirit and deep love for family began shaping the beautiful life she would share with so many.

Yiya was preceded in death by her parents, Isidro Morales and Anselma Cintrón, and her beloved son, Jorge Luis Rodriguez, whom she lovingly cared for throughout his 29-year illness with unwavering dedication and strength. While their loss was deeply felt, her strength and devotion to her family never wavered. Known as the life of the party “la inyección de la familia” Yiya brought warmth, laughter, and energy wherever she went.

She loved baking and was especially passionate about repostería, filling homes and hearts with sweet treats made with love. She enjoyed playing Po•ke•no, spending hours on jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and creating beautiful flower arrangements. Yiya adored angels and kept them all around her as symbols of comfort and faith. Music was always close to her heart — she loved to dance and sing, turning ordinary moments into joyful celebrations. Above all, Yiya was a caretaker in the truest sense. She always put her loved ones first, offering unwavering love, guidance, and support to everyone blessed to know her.

She is survived by her devoted spouse, Jose Luis Rodriguez; her loving children Luis Alfredo Rodriguez (and his wife Maritza Rivera, who she cherished as her own daughter), Angel Luis Rodriguez, and Madeline Rodriguez; and her adopted son, Jose Manuel Rodriguez .Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren — Ashley Marie Rodriguez, Luis Abdiel Rodriguez, Mileisha Martinez, Katherine Angelis Rodriguez, Nailely Rodriguez, Eithan Luis, and Ruben Fondin — and her great-granddaughter, Aryela Nichols. Yiya also leaves behind nine brothers and sisters, along with many nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close .Dominga “Yiya” Morales will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her generous heart, and the love she poured into her family every single day. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will live on in every laugh, every song, and every sweet aroma from a kitchen filled with love.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road Newark, DE 19711, where the viewing will begin at 10:30 AM.

La música siempre estuvo cerca de su corazón: le encantaba bailar y cantar, convirtiendo momentos ordinarios en celebraciones alegres, especialmente al ritmo de la banda de “Trío”, grupo del que su esposo formó parte.Sobre todo, Yiya era una cuidadora en el verdadero sentido. Ella siempre puso a sus seres queridos primero, ofreciendo amor inquebrantable, orientación y apoyo a todos los bendecidos para conocerla.

Le sobreviven su devoto esposo, José Luis Rodríguez; sus amorosos hijos Luis Alfredo Rodríguez (y su esposa Maritza Rivera, a quien apreciaba como su propia hija), Ángel Luis Rodríguez y Madeline Rodríguez; y su hijo adoptivo, José Manuel Rodríguez.Su legado continúa a través de sus preciados nietos, Ashley Marie Rodríguez, Luis Abdiel Rodríguez, Mileisha Martínez, Katherine Angelis Rodríguez, Nailely Rodríguez, Eithan Luis y Rubén Fondin, y su bisnieta, Aryela Nichols.
