Deborah J. Coughlin Zimath

Deborah J. Coughlin Zimath, age 72, of Newark, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Debbie will be remembered for her zest of life, logical yet playful nature. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time and making memories with them, family, and friends. She was a caretaker at heart and took great pride over the last several years providing in-home care to elderly.

Debbie was preceded in death by her son, Dale Bahr.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie; son, David Zimath Jr (Tiffany); siblings, Marty Coughlin (Cathy), Terry Coughlin, Tim Coughlin (Vivian) and Robin Long (Barry) and grandchildren, Ashley, Eric, Devin, Hank, R.J. Chloe and Sophia. In addition, nieces and nephews, Rose Williams, Marcia Dowell, Cheri Coughlin, Jamie Traylor, Joseph Walls and Mac DeFord.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 30 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will be private.Contributions in Debbie’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Association.
