Christopher ‘Bear’ Bellere, age 44, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
As a kid, growing up in Bear, DE, he was a Boy Scout first class and enjoyed playing soccer and football. His love for the Dallas Cowboys continued through his childhood into adulthood, even though he had to frequently lean on their success during his childhood to outweigh the disappointment of the Cowboys since the late ‘90s. Bear worked as a security guard and bail enforcement officer and considered himself a gun enthusiast. He loved Mountain Dew, Italian food, cheesesteaks, and parmesan cheese. Bear was also passionate about cars and sound systems. The more bass, the better! His greatest joy was his life partner, Lisa, his kids, pets, and his family.
Bear is preceded in death by his father, John Bellere Jr, his grandfather, Thomas Scallion, and his mother-in-law, Sarah Tansley.
Survivors include his long-time partner, Lisa Hathaway; children, Kaylah, Savannah, Christopher Jr, and Brooklyn; Mom, Eileen and stepdad, Mark Turner; siblings, Tony (Kim), Stephanie Kilsby (Trey); Step siblings, Johnathan and JoAnna Turner; Siblings-in-law, Crystal March and Richard Tansley (Heather); Aunt Karen; Uncle Billy; his grandmother, Helen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at Christ the Cornerstone Church, 3135 Summit Bridge Rd, Bear, DE on Saturday, March 21. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow immediately after. Burial will be private.
