Cheryl L. O'Donnell

Cheryl Lynn O'Donnell, age 68, of Wilmington, formerly of Newark, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

Cheryl delivered News Journal newspapers for many years. She also worked as a slot attendant at Delaware Park. Cheryl enjoyed visiting casinos when she could and always encouraged family and friends to get their lottery tickets! She loved listening to country music and fishing. 

Cheryl is preceded in death by her husband, Charles O'Donnell Jr.; brother, Kevin Jacobs; sister, Arlene Jacobs; and her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Jacobs.

Survivors include her children, Jesse O'Donnell, Shawn O'Donnell, and Christie Spry, and grandchildren Andrew and Cara.

A visitation will be held at 10 am with the service to follow at 11 am on Saturday, January 17 at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804. Burial services will be private.
