Chais Johnathan Anthony, age 26, of Wilmington, Delaware, transitioned unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at home.
Chais was a 2017 graduate of Delcastle Technical High School, where he studied Digital Media. Creative by nature, Chais had a deep appreciation for art, storytelling, music, and the things that brought people together through shared memories and imagination. He had a true passion for creating music and expressing himself through creativity in all forms.
Chais was an avid collector who found joy and meaning in the nostalgic things he loved. Whether it was anime, Marvel, movies, gaming, or music, he immersed himself fully in the worlds and characters that inspired him. He had a unique ability to connect with others through those interests, often sharing recommendations, conversations, laughter, and excitement with the people around him.
Beyond his hobbies, Chais will be remembered most for his gentle heart, quiet kindness, and the warmth he brought into a room. He had a smile that could instantly make others feel comfortable and welcomed. Those who knew him knew his love ran deep, even in the smallest moments through his humor, his conversations, his loyalty, and the way he cared for the people closest to him.
Chais leaves behind countless memories that will forever be cherished by those who loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Azia Burnett; his sister, Ivy Anthony; his father, Johnathan Anthony; his half-sister, Kaila Anthony; his grandmothers, Enola Burnett and Rose Anthony; his grandfather, Fred Lewis; his uncles, Naru Burnett and Kawane Lewis; his aunt, Tammy Holley; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
