Caroline "Carol" Shockley

Caroline Shockley, age 35, of Wilmington, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Carol attended Forrest Oak Elementary, Stanton Middle and Delcastle High School where she studied Chemical Lab Technology. Carol’s mission with school was to find the cure for cancer. Her grandmother and namesake passed away from cancer before she was born and Carol wanted to find the cure so no one else had to lose a loved one that way.

Carol is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Caroline Shockley and her maternal grandmother, Mildred Hubbard.

She is survived by her loving children, Paul and Karisma Shockley; her father, Gary Shockley; her mother, Barbara Shockley-Moore and Joseph Moore; sister, Barbara Zebrook (Billy Vanover); brother, Brian Moore (Kate), sister, Amanda Emm; brother, Joseph Moore’ niece, Michelle Hubbard; nephews, Joseph and Reece Zebrook and a host of aunts, uncles, grand nieces, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 3 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 East Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will be private.
