Carlos Machado

Carlos F. Machado, age 96, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Carlos was born in El Salvador and lived in the Bronx, NY before moving to Wilmington. He loved listening to music and watching the NY Yankees and Real Madrid.

Carlos was a devoted husband for over 50 years to his wife, Irma, who passed in October 2020. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Marco Machado and Manuel Antonio Machado.

Survivors include his children, Marco Antonio Machado, Ana Lilian Salmeron (Jaime), Carlos A Machado (Cecilia), Nelson Eric Machado (Iliana), Wilfredo Rivera (Catalina); brothers, Guilfredo Machado and Gustavo Machado (Lucia); sister, Maria Jimenez (Juan); grandchildren, Andrea Machado, Carla Machado, Adriana Machado, Nelson Machado Jr., Arianna Salmeron, Kevin Salmeron, Alejandro Salmeron, Jacqueline Rivera, Wilfredo Rivera Jr., Kellin Orellana, Melissa Orellana, Karen Machado, Genesis Machado and Manuela Machado; and Nephews and Niece, Wilfredo Machado (Marlene), Manuel Machado (Yanira) and Rosa Machado Orellana (Efrain).

Services will be held at 8:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Nichols – Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804, where visitation will begin at 6:00 PM. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington , DE 19805.
