Anthony “Uncle Tony” Dobies, 76, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Tony was a long-time manager at Prices Corner Bowling Alley, where his happy-go-lucky personality made him a favorite in the community. A proud Wilmington High School alumnus and former member of St. Elizabeth Church, Tony carried a deep love for his Polish heritage and a joyful approach to daily life.
He was an avid thrifter and antiquer who loved the thrill of finding a hidden treasure. However, his greatest treasures were his family. Tony’s happiest days were spent with his great-nephew, Jax, and his faithful dog, Runt.
Tony joins his late parents, William and Helen, and his brothers, William, John, David, Michael, and Richard, in eternal rest. Survived by one brother James Dobies.
His memory will be kept alive by his devoted niece and caretaker, Helen O’Neill (Matthew); his nephew, Richard Dobies (Beth); his great-nephew, Jax O’Neill; and a wonderful, large family of nieces and nephews who are too many to list.
Services will be private.
