Alfred Monroe Jr. "Junie," age 73, of Wilmington, transitioned on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Junie served honorably in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and worked at General Motors in Wilmington for many years.

Junie enjoyed crabbing and fishing. He liked to cook, work on cars, and enjoyed playing basketball.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Monroe, and sister, Helen Monroe.

Junie is survived by his sons, Kristian (Toni) and Keenan Monroe; his daughter, Erin Murray; grandson, Kam; brother, Wesley Monroe (Anitta); sisters, Holly Kane (Sydney), Lorreta Monroe, and Theresa.
