On Thursday, September 3, 2020 Wladyslaw (Walter) Julian Skolimowski, beloved husband of the late Wanda and loving father of Beata Skolimowski, passed away in Wilmington, Delaware at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family.

Walter was born in Warsaw, Poland and was the son of Alina Popinska and Eugeniusz Skolimowski. He graduated high school in Warsaw, Poland and then completed and associates’ program in automotive technology, where he later opened his own body shop after moving to Chicago, Illinois. He met the love of his life, Wanda, when they were just teenagers and have remained together until her passing in 2018. Walter and Wanda’s dreams were to travel to the United States to fulfill their American dream, which they accomplished in 1975. They resided in Chicago most of their lives. Together they had their daughter, Beata.

Walter was well respected and loved by all his family and friends. His hobbies included cross country travel, competitive cycling, and was an avid soccer and boxing fan. He also loved fishing and the outdoors.

A mass will be held in his memory in Chicago and Delaware. Friends and family will be notified at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity in Walter’s memory.
