Obituary for Willow Anne Grant

Willow Anne Grant, 56, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on September 29th, 2023, after a long illness.

She was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1966. Due to the untimely death of her mother, she was raised by her loving grandparents in Little Rock, Arkansas. After graduating from Hall High School, she achieved her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

In 1994, Willow married Cory Brown, and though this relationship wasn't permanent, they did have two sons and remained friends afterwards. Willow pursued a career in IT and found her calling as a computer programmer. She worked for multiple companies, but was most proud of her time at St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Willow's hobbies included spinning dance tracks at Murphy's Irish Pub on Madison Ave. in Memphis, riding her Harley and BMW motorcycles, reading science fiction, cheering on her favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys, playing video games with her sons and introducing them to her favorite films. She also enjoyed driving her Mazda Miata with the top down. Willow had an infectious smile that had a way of easing your worries, and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her two sons, Liam Grant and Fergus Grant, ex-wife, Cory Brown Holloway, sister and brother-in-law, Deborah Papaeconomou (Lambros), niece, Olga Papaeconomou, and nephew, Dimitris Papaeconomou.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joy Ann Tisdale and Bill Grant, and her grandparents, Henry and Lou Ann Tisdale.

Private memorial will be held at a later date.

Willow's family would like to give special thanks to the ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital ICU nursing staff, especially Jenn, for their excellent care and compassion.
