William Clark Hanson, lovingly known as “Bill”, 90 of Middletown, DE. formerly of Machiasport, ME. passed away Tuesday April 21, at home.

Bill served a tour in the United States Army with the 7749th Ordinance Group. He earned the Army Occupation- with European Clasp- for service in Western Europe in 1949.

He loved to tell stories of his adventures to his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. He loved nature, the ocean and talking about Maine to anyone who would listen. He loved getting his lottery tickets weekly and talking about what he would do with the winnings. Bill enjoyed watching Dr. Phil, the movies Dirty Dancing and Titanic.

Bill is survived by his daughter Kimberly Dixon (James), his step daughter Leslie and his grandchildren Maddox and Colin, step grandchildren John, Emmanuel, Sarah and Seth as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his 100 year old sister Pauline Bernath of Bangor ME.

Due to Covid 19, services and burial will be private however, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
