Obituary for Stephen J. Quill
Stephen J. Quill, age 69, of Wilmington, formerly of Claymont, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Accent Care.
Steve attended St. Edmunds Grade School and was a 1971 graduate of Salesianum High School and then DelTech College. Steve worked at Hercules Research Center for 18 years as a lab tech, at Epsilon Products Company in quality control, at Lyondell Basell Industries as a chemical tech. He also worked as a contractor at Air Liquide and DuPont DE. Steve was a member of several different bowling leagues, mixed and mens. He bowled a perfect 300 game at Silverside Lanes. Steve was an avid reader of mostly fiction. He enjoyed visiting casinos and taking short road trips. Steve loved animals, especially the several rescue cats he adopted as his beloved pets over the years. There was a time he fostered kittens for Forgotten Cats and took in two stray cats left by neighbors when they moved away.
Steve was a gentle soul, with kindness in his heart. He was extremely well read, opinionated, and could hold a conversation with almost anyone. He tended to be a homebody and liked to relax by watching baseball, football and ice hockey on television.
Steve is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda A. Quill; his brothers, Dennis Quill (Cathy), Paul Quill (Donna) and Kevin Quill; niece, Stephanie Quill and nephew, Andrew Quill (Melanie).
