Obituary for Stacy (Simpers) Wenner

Stacy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her father, James “Barry” Johnston; grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Harman and brother-in-law, Brian Wenner.

She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Michael Wenner, son Tyler Noethiger, daughters Alexis and Delaney Wenner; mother Diane (Harman) Johnston; In-laws, Robert “Bobby” and Sandy Wenner, brother Michael (Ashley) Simpers, sister Jennifer Johnston; Aunts Lois Huggins, Debbie Gerber, and Dawn Ford, nephew Adam Simpers and nieces Mackenzie and Kylie Simpers, a very large extended family, her many adopted children, her friends family, boating family, and work family who were all true family in her heart. Stacy surrounded herself with a loving village of people to continue supporting her family in the coming years.

Stacy loved life and her family, especially being a mother to her three children. As an active mother, she earned a blackbelt in karate, served as a girl scout leader, President of the Delaware Military Academy Sports Boosters, T-ball Coach, and Team Mom for a multitude of her children’s sports teams. She was a warrior princess whose happy place was on their boat and in the water on the Bohemia, Sassafras and especially Still Pond. She was a Mary Kay consultant and employed as a Loan Officer Assistant for Guild Mortgage where she was the right hand of Phil Davis for over 18 years.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Visitation will be at 10 am and Services will begin at 11 am at First Presbyterian Church of Newark, 292 W. Main Street, Newark, DE (Please wear something purple in her honor)

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her name to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Shopping Center, 2nd Floor, Newark, Delaware 19711, or First Presbyterian Church of Newark.
