Obituary for Scott Allen Lee

Print
Scott Allen Lee passed away peacefully on August 10, 2020 at the age of 57. He was the youngest son of Oscar and Betty Lee of Wilmington, Delaware.

Scott graduated from Newark High School in 1980. He went on to serve in the Navy on the USS John F. Kennedy (CV67).Upon returning home he worked in construction, roofing, and eventually became a millwright mechanic. Scott had a love/hate relationship with the New York Jets - in the end he really loved to hate them. Scott lived by the philosophy “ work hard, play harder.” Scott had a great appreciation for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, shooting and fishing, but his passion was crabbing.

He truly enjoyed being on the water, watching the sunrise and set, especially in the back bays of Maryland and Delaware. Scott had a million reasons why any particular day was a great day to go crabbing, but ultimately, if the day ended in a “ Y ” that made it a great day to get out in a boat. His enthusiasm for crabbing as an adolescent continued through adulthood. From crabbing on the Wye to heading 40 miles off the Outer Banks, he turned most activities into events to be warmly reminisced about for years.

He was truly one of a kind. He was a big man with an even bigger heart. Scott's greatest accomplishments and source of pride were his children, Julia and Alexander, whom he loved more than anything else in this world. Scott will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Betty Lee, and his sister, Carol Kendall.

He is survived by his children Julia and Alexander Lee, their mother Monica Lee; his brother Richard (Norma) Lee, brother-in-law David Kendall, nephew Kevin Kendall, niece Lisa(James)Halbert, nephew Adam(Krystle)Lee, great nieces Abbey and Emma Halbert ,and Savannah Lee, great nephew Hunter Lee, and his partner Jennifer Jones and their dog, Oscar.

Due to COVID -19 this will be a private memorial service and will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery for family and close friends on August 21st, 2020.
