Obituary for Robert L Brand

God in his infinite wisdom is keenly aware when one of his children has grown tired of his tedious journey. “For we know that if our earthly house of his tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God.” There is an open gate through which we must go alone. That time came for our loved one, Robert L. Brand who after a brief illness, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 29th 2021.

Robert Lee Brand, the son of the late Moses Brand and Victoria Butler Brand was born on January 27,1946 in Alcolu, South Carolina. He was the third child of five born of that union. His four siblings: Marjorie, Moses Jr., Sarah Ann, and Burdia Mae preceded him in death.

Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior by being baptized at the Rock Hill Baptist Church in Manning, South Carolina as a young child. He received his formal education in the Clarendon County school system, graduating from Manning Training School in 1964. He joined the Air Force after his graduation, bravely serving his country during the Viet Nam War and attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1967. Robert moved to Baltimore, MD in the late sixties, where he worked for the MD Mass Transit Administration for over twentyfive years before his retirement in 1996. This is also where Robert met Delores Posey-Brand with whom he enjoyed over 25 years of marriage before his passing.

Those who remain to grow from his love and guidance are his loving and devoted wife, Delores Posey-Brand; from his previous marriage to Lois Brand, two daughters; Marquette Brand (Kevin Napier) of Randallstown, MD. and Kelly Brand (Lawrence Gay) of York, PA. as well as his daughter Dawn Thomas of Cecil County MD. and son Donell Washington of Baltimore, MD. From his marriage to Delores; his son Jamal Posey of Baltimore, MD. Four grandchildren; Shakeisha, Tamikia, Kevyn, and Mia, and two great grandchildren. His cousin Charles Butler, who was like a brother to him. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Robert FOREVER Rest In Peace…
