Obituary for Richard "Richie" Anthony Refner
Richard Anthony “Richie” Refner, age 25, of Newark, formerly of Wilmington, left us suddenly on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Richie attended St. Hedwig’s School and Church where he was baptized. He graduated from John Dickinson High School in 2015 and went on to work in construction.
Richie enjoyed baseball, fishing, and spending time with his daughter.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Anthony Saienni Jr.
Survivors include the love of his life Hailey Matheus and their daughter Myla Grace; parents, Richard Refner (Kimberly) and Lisa Stewart (James); siblings, Zachary Drummond, Cassidy Refner, Alexis Stewart, Jessica Stewart and Zachary Zarett; grandmother, Patricia Saienni; grandfather Richard Refner (Lisa); grandparents, Ann and John Slawski; cousins, aunts, uncles and other extended family.
Services for Richie will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Nichols – Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804, where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
