Obituary for Meliton Sanchez
Meliton P. Sanchez, age 43, of Wilmington, formerly of Newport, went to be with The Lord on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Christiana Hospital.
Meliton was a chef for several area restaurants including Lamberti Cucina. He was a great friend and was always willing to help his family and friends.
Meliton was preceded in death by his cousin, Jose Sanchez Pontoja.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Elvira; son, Gustano V. Cuba; daughter, Elisa Pontoja, Lisbet Pontoja and Melissa Pontoja; parents, Rueban Terreros and Delores Sanchez and sisters, Antonia Pontoja and Rafaila Pontoja.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, December 28 at St. John-Holy Angels Catholic Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711 where visitation will begin at 11 am. Burial will take place in Mexico.
