Obituary for Leanne Knoll Holmes
Leanne Knoll Holmes of Milford, DE passed away on Saturday October 7th 2023. Leanne was born on August 26th 1962 in Binghamton, New York; daughter of Leo Knoll and the late Darla Knoll.
Leanne is survived by her two children and three cherished grandchildren; son Adam Holmes and grandson Adam Jr., daughter Mallory Bryant and granddaughter Ellie Mae and grandson Shane. Leanne is survived by her sister Michelle Minton and preceded in death by her sister Heidi Seymour, who she cared for during her battle against breast cancer. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Leanne had an adventurous childhood with her parents and two sisters residing in the Florida Keys, St. Thomas, and St. Croix spending days fishing, snorkeling, and sailing and in turn instilling in her a love for the islands. Leanne graduated from Saint Cyril Academy in Danville, PA and then attended Villanova University in Villanova, PA studying international business during her time there. She then started her family in Delaware residing in Newark, DE and Middletown, DE.
Leanne will be remembered for her love of and great taste in music, her laughter, quick wit, fantastic sense of humor, love for animals, and her free spirit. She radiated kindness, benevolence, and selflessness always. She could always be counted on for her love and support. She was a treasured daughter, sister, mother, aunt, friend, and especially “Grammy” to her grandchildren. Taken from us too soon, she will be missed immensely and may she rest in eternal peace.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Sunday, November 19 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am.
