Obituary for Julie A Brown

Julie Ann Brown, also known as Susie to loved ones, of Wilmington DE departed this life on December 26, 2023.

She was born July 24, 1958, in Chestertown, Maryland, to Minnie Rebecca Ford and Michael Gonzalez Padillio.
Julie is survived by her children Tamanita Lomax and Marcus Wilson (Sarah Wilson), grandchildren Jachin Brown, Jawahn Harper, Ja’Leir Harper (Aniya Gibson), Ja’Niya Payne, Zemirah Wilson, and Amita Wilson, great grandchildren, Javion Gibson, Jasaad Brown, Ja’Lanni Harper, Sariya Hill, aunt Mary Dawkins and uncle Oliver Tiller, sisters Mary Padillio and Marion Jones and brother Miyo Castro, devoted sister-in-law Sharon Valentine and nieces Shawnette and Vonyentte Valentine, great nephew Isaiah Davis, faithful friend Phyliss Burley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Julie received her diploma from Queen Anne’s County High School and attended Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD, and received her CNA certification in 1988.

Julie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her bright smile, amiable personality, and unique laugh. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who cared deeply for her family.

Julie acquired a passion for football and was a fervent Dallas Cowboys fan. She would love to brag every time they won a game, but she would not talk to you if they didn’t. She also enjoyed going to Delaware Park and Walmart in her spare time. Julie loved everyone, had such a caring heart, and would help anyone even if she did not have it.

Julie will forever be remembered, and her legacy honored through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded by her maternal grandmother and grandfather, Minnie May Chatt and Howard, mother Minnie Rebecca Ford, father Michael Gonzalez Padillio, brother William Michael Valentine, and husband James Brown.

A celebration of Julie’s life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wilmington DE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie’s memory to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
