John M. Smiley Jr
Wilmington and Lewes - Jack, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
Jack grew up in Newport where he was a 1968 graduate of Conrad High School. He then graduated from the University of Delaware. Jack retired after 40 years from St. Marks High School where he taught economics, world history and coached football. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, his dogs and sports. Jack loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John M. Smiley Sr and Eleanor Freed Smiley and his sister, Christine Smiley.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Suzanne D. Smiley; his step son, John A. Sensing (Caroline); his step daughter, Elizabeth S. Sensing; and his three grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 26 at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 101 Old Kennett Rd, Wilmington, DE 19807.
