John D. Moses, 95, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, August, 5 2023. He was born in Richmond, VA, son of the late Florence Byrd Robinson and the late Phillip F. Moses. John graduated from Elkton High School in 1945. He worked for Penn Railroad as a mechanic before joining the military.

He was a PFC in the United States Army and was stationed in the Philippines and Japan as a Military Policeman for 2 years. He received the WWII Vic Medal and Occupation Medal (Japan). He retired from General Motors after 25 years of service as General Foreman.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling to hunt Bear and Elk. He also enjoyed playing solitaire. John belonged to the Masons, American Legion and the Lions Club.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his son John Clifford Moses, the love of his life Lorraine Krauss and her daughter, Lana Kolmodin and sister Margaret Brown. He is survived by his cousin Rodney Byrd (Audrey) and their sons Rick and Jeff. Lorraine’s daughter’s; Dianna Krauss, Sharon Foxwell and Michele Krauss.

Graveside services were private at Immaculate Conception in Elkton, Maryland.
