Obituary for James H. Achuff III

James H. Achuff III, of New Castle, formally from Aston Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord in the presence of his family.

James H. Achuff III was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Achuff and Mary O. Achuff of Kenton, DE.

Jim has left behind his loving wife, Dorothy Achuff, of New Castle, DE; his daughters, Dorothy and Andrew Blodgett, of Felton, Amanda Achuff of New Castle, Delaware, Pearl Bartolotti and Alan Hubbard of Bridgeville, Delaware, Angel Achuff of New Castle, Delaware, Destiny Ferrier of Newark and Milly Lambka of Greenwood, Delaware. He also left behind 17 grand children and two great grandchildren; his brothers, Lou and Carol Achuff of Magnolia, Delaware, and Billy and Patty Achuff of Clayton, Delaware; sisters, Pearl and Ace Steele of Felton, Delaware, Janet Johnson, of New Castle, Delaware, Evva Hoyt of Missouri, and Rose Shipley of North Carolina; and many many nieces and nephews.

Jim was an Army veteran and also an Aston Beachwood fire fighter. He was a landscaper and a jack of all trades, but was well known as junkman Jim. He had a great personality and an awesome sense of humor and was well respected and loved by his community. Jim loved fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife and girls.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Nichols - Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804, where visitiation will begin at 1:00 PM.
