Obituary for Dovie W Banks

Dovie White Banks was born on October 11, 1947 to the late Christine Edna Bible White (Albert White, Sr.), in Cleveland, Ohio. She transitioned on Friday, December 17, 2021. She attended East Technical High School. During her lifetime she held various jobs.

Dovie, affectionately known as “Church” was a fun-loving and dedicated friend to those she held close. She was always on the go until her illness; but kept that “go get em” attitude. She loved to play cards, bingo and tell jokes. She loved her family and those that were lucky enough to be called her friend, know that she would give you the shirt off her back.

Dovie rededicated her life to Christ and was a member of F.I.G.H.T. [Families In God Holding Together] under the leadership of Senior Pastor John A. Burnett. Dovie attended service in person as often as possible. She made a point of always paying her tithes and offerings.

She was preceded in death by her mother Christine Edna Bible White, sisters: Christine White; Geraldine White; Marrionete Davis; and brothers Lawrence White and Albert White, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 16 years, Earl Matthews Banks-EL; a devoted niece Sylvia Weaver (Alvin ); her dog Jacob, whom she affectionately called her child; sisters Phyllis Hailey, Barbara Jean Pledger, Jeanette George; a brother Donald Eric White (Rosemary); and a host of nephews, neices, great nephews and great nieces and friends.
