I am deeply sorry for your loss. I'm reaching out with some encouragement as I too have lost many loved ones in death. One thing that has helped me to cope many times is a promise made by Jesus Christ. He talked about a resurrection of the dead in a Paradise Earth where all of us will see our loved ones again! Jesus promises in John 5:28, 29: “All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”
Another comforting Scripture, one of my personal favorites, is Revelation 21:4. It speaks of world conditions under God’s Kingdom rule. It says: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” A most reassuring promise indeed! I hope these verses comfort you as they have comforted me. My heart and prayers go out to you.

Our parents, Mary and Millard Widdekind knew Dorothy as they grew up together in Richardson Park. Rich would come out to our home to give our father communion when he was unable to get to church. Our prayers are with the entire Scarborough family.

Dear Rich, Judy, Rob and families. I believe this now ends an era for us all and it brings me much sadness. The last time I spoke to your Mom was about a year ago and she expressed all the changes to the neighborhood much to her disappointment. My memories of your Mom are nothing less than a wonderful woman, kind, pleasant, strong willed and always moving herself here and there by foot or by car. In later years, she and my Mom would trade love novels by the stacks and I would always tease both of them of their secret shared obsession. Your Mom's reaction was always a smile accompanied with a comment of "oh stop that now". Growing up across the avenue from your family and parents will always remain a happy memory for me I know, this is a difficult time for all of you, but I believe that your father has taken her hand once again and they finally reunited in eternal peace and love.
My deepest and heartfelt condolences to all. Steve Kachmar
