Christopher W. Slevin , age 44, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019.

Born on July 5, 1974 to William and Kathy Slevin in Chester PA. He was affectionately known to his family as Dr. Dolittle for his strong love of animals(especially cats.) As a boy he nursed many of our pets back to good health and this continued into adulthood.Sarah McLachlan got him every time!

His favorite was Bud Ice. Pair that with Nascar, even better! He loved female fronted rockbands , Pretty Reckless, the Cranberries to name a couple.Chris was always himself .No matter who was around he never changed. He could be tough and was never afraid but deep down he was a Momma's boy. Ben & Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie or Salted Caramel Core and a good comedy like Shameless or even an old re-run of law and order are some of the little things that would make him happy. Chris was neighborly, kind, caring and compassionate. He was always helping someone out. Even at the end he was able to do one final act of kindness and donate his kidneys.

Chris is preceded in death by his dad William Slevin.

Chris is survived by his mom Kathy Slevin, Sister and Brother in law Gwendolyn and Juan Rodriguez, Nephews Justin, Richie and Jacob all at home in Newark. A special uncle Dennis Wertz of New Castle and his best friend Joe Kellagher of Newark.

Chris will be missed by many and never forgotten. Until we are all together again , Rest easy!
