Obituary for Carmen Elsie Cintron
Carmen Elsie Cintron, age 78, of Wilmington, DE went home to the Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Carmen was born in Maunabo, Puerto Rico to the late Gerardo Ortiz Cintron and Gabriela Vega Ramos Cintron. Carmen was loving & kind-hearted to all those who knew her; family, friends & strangers alike.
Carmen Elsie is survived by her children: Sophia DelToro of New Castle, DE, Damon DelPilar (Lois) of Clayton, DE and Raquel Prado of Wilmington, DE. She was a loving & compassionate companion to Charles “Chuck” Merritt of Wilmington, DE. Carmen is also survived by her loving siblings: Jerry Cintron (Nancy), Hector Cintron (Lori), Sonia Gonzalez (Juan), Edwin Cintron (Debbie), Robert Cintron (Anna) and sister-in-law, Debbie Mena Cintron. She was grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Carmen has a host of nieces & nephews as well as extended family in Puerto Rico, Florida & New York. Carmen was predeceased by her parents, Gerardo & Gabriela Cintron; her beloved daughter Melinda “Mindy” Cintron, sister, Velma Cintron, and brothers: Pedro Julio and David Cintron.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Carmen's life and legacy at 11 am on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am.
