Obituary for Beverly Fox

Beverly A (Babs) Fox, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

Daughter of the late Charles R and Alberta K Fox and was raised in Chester County, PA. She was a graduate of the Chicago School of Interior Design and also studied a Penn State University and Thomas Edison University. After living and working in several states she returned to Pennsylvania where she was employed by Wyeth Ayerst International until her retirement.

While living in Sarasota, FL, Beverly was an active member of the Sarasota Fencing Club and the Sailing Squadron. She also participated in road rallies with the Four Cylinder Sports Car Club. Upon returning to Pennsylvania she began a part-time needlepoint design business. A long time member of the Chester County Historical Society, she also was a member of the Concerned Citizens of Greater West Chester, The Gay Street Design Committee, the Old Fashioned Christmas Committee, The Citizens to Save the Warner, the Board of Development of West Chester University and the Board of the Historic Review.

Following retirement Wyeth she participated as a volunteer instructor in the English as a Second Language program. She was a volunteer for Chester County Day for twenty years and also volunteered at the Radnor Three Day Event and the Laurels Driving Competition. She was a founding member of the Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates serving several positions on the Board including two as the president. In 1983 she was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

Babs loved to travel and ventured through many European countries during many trips including some cruises there and throughout the US. She enjoyed her last years and many activities with many wonderful people she met at Spring Hill.

Babs is survived by her sister, Shirley K Fox, niece Beth Spatz, nephews Douglas, Robert (wife Lynda) and Stuart (wife Sally), grand-niece AnnaLee Spatz and grand-nephew Tristan Spatz cousins.
