Obituary for Beatrice R Comegys

Beatrice R. Comegys, age, 77, of Newport, beloved mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Bea was the wife of the late Walter Comegys who passed away in 2010, then loving partner to Robert (Bob) Evans Sr who passed away in July 2020.

Bea was lucky to find love again with Bob in 2011. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and attending car shows with Bob. Bea and Bob also loved crabs! Her first date with Bob was at Boondocks in Smyrna, where they enjoyed eating crabs and made the drive there often throughout each season for 9 years. In Bea’s earlier years she worked at Mary’s Kountry Kitchen for many years and also had a career in Real Estate.

Bea was born in Wilmington and was the daughter of the late Albert and Blanche Leifheit. She was preceded in death by her children, Jim Perry and Cheryl Adams. Bea was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Leifheit and Jeanette Chinski.

Bea is survived by her siblings, Blanche Mahoney, Albert Leifheit Jr, Margaret Stevenson, Ella Cook and George Leifheit. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Michele (Mike) Norris; her grandchildren, Samantha (Paul) Sayre, Stephanie (Mike) Franchetti, Brandon (Casey) Perry, Michael Norris and Olivia Norris; great grandson, Rocco and great granddaughter, Phoenyx. Bea is also survived by her extended family, Bob and Cheryl Evans including their children and grandchildren.

Bea will always be remembered for her fantastic fortitude, plentiful patience and wonderful wisdom. These attributes, plus her ability to administer unlimited amounts of tender loving care, along with her laughter and her generosity toward everyone will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services will be at 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 16 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 12:30. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
