We sadly announce the passing of Rev. Dr. Barbara E. Jones on April 17, 2023 at the Courtland Manor Nursing Home in Dover, DE with one of her granddaughters Michelle at her side. Barbara was born September 13th on Deal Island, MD to William and Violet Jenkins and was the oldest of 5 surviving siblings. She was widow to Joseph J Jones Jr and is survived by daughter Brenda Hampton of Brooklyn, New York, 13 grand and 2 great grandchildren. Barbara was a retiree of the Wilmington Delaware Medical Center as an LPN and last worked as an operating room scrub nurse. After retirement, she earned a diploma in 2006 in Advanced Theology II from The Jameson School of Theology and later a Master of Arts degree followed in two years with a Doctor of Theology from the International Christian University. Rev Jones was a practicing evangelist until her passing. She is sorely missed by family and friends. A memorial service is planned at The Gracelawn Memorial Park where she is to be interred with her late son, Joey and late daughter Kathy.
