Anthony J. Brittingham, age 29, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

Anthony attended A.I. DuPont High School. He spent his entire working career at his family business, Brittingham Construction. His favorite pastime was visiting his family’s residence at Indian Acres, where he enjoyed many outdoor activities such as riding golf carts, dirt bikes, boating, and swimming. Anthony loved spending time listening to music, watching racing, and playing Wii games with his Uncle Smoke and Aunt Debbie. Anthony also enjoyed weekends paintballing with his dad and half-brothers.

Anthony was preceded in death by his cousin, Christie Riley and his uncle, Jake Brittingham. Survivors include his mother, Sherry Brittingham, his Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop, Sharon and John Brittingham, his father and step mother, Patrick and Dawn Schafferman and their children, his uncles and aunts, Michael and Debbie Riley and John and Kim Neel and other extended family.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 18 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis Street Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 12 noon. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with the funeral expenses.
