Gayle, age 66, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Friday, November 17, 2017. Gayle loved working with school children as a bus aide with First Student Bus Company and then with the Red Clay School District for 25 years before retiring in 2009. She will be best remembered for her candid personality, her sense of humor and her love for her dog Pee Wee.

Gayle was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Thomas L. Simpson; her mother, Dolores J. Wilson and her brother, Glenn E. Wilson.

Survivors include her loving sister and caregiver, Gwyn Woodward; her niece, Tracy Echols (William); her nephew, Paul Joseph Woodward (fiancee Jamie); Great nieces and nephew, JaNya Richardson, Jamea Hale and James Akki Hale; great great nephew, Robert White II and great great niece, Brooklyn Hale.

Services will be private.
